“Your one stop repair shop!”
Collision Repair Questions? We've Got Answers.
From estimates and insurance claims to deductibles, rentals and repair warranties, here are answers to some of the questions we hear most often.
What to Expect During the Repair Process
Collision repair can feel complicated. These answers can help explain some of the most common parts of the process.
R&I means “Remove and Install.” It refers to removing trim pieces such as moldings, door handles and emblems so paint can be applied properly.
Fabel uses this process as a general practice during repairs to help achieve a proper finish and restore the vehicle to its pre-accident appearance.
No. According to the information currently published by Fabel, you are not required to obtain more than one estimate and you may choose the repair shop you want to use.
Your insurance company still needs access to the vehicle so the damage can be inspected.
Repair estimates can vary because shops may identify or document repair procedures differently.
Fabel's current FAQ says its team works to write a thorough estimate up front. If you're unsure why two estimates differ, contact the Collision Center at 920-931-2200.
Fabel's goal is to restore the vehicle to its pre-accident condition, including its appearance and repair specifications.
Providing detailed information about how the accident occurred can help the repair team determine the appropriate repair procedures.
Fabel Collision Center currently advertises a limited lifetime repair warranty and lifetime nationwide Axalta paint warranty.
The current page also identifies Fabel's technicians as I-CAR and ASE certified and states that repair work is audited by OEM and insurance-carrier programs.
Insurance & Deductible Questions
Deductibles and insurance requirements depend on the customer's individual policy and type of claim.
Do I Have a Deductible?
Deductibles may range from $0 to $1,000 or more depending on the policy and whether the claim is considered comprehensive, collision, uninsured motorist or hit-and-run. Check with your insurance agent to confirm your deductible.
When Do I Pay It?
Fabel's current policy states that the deductible is due when the repaired vehicle is picked up.
Can the Deductible Be “Buried”?
No. The current Fabel FAQ states that hiding or including a deductible improperly within repair charges to the insurance company would constitute insurance fraud.
Need Something to Drive?
Fabel's current Collision FAQ says a vehicle may be provided while yours is being repaired, subject to the requirements listed below.
- Repair requires 8 or more labor hours.
- Driver must be 21 years of age or older.
- A valid driver's license is required.
- Comprehensive and collision insurance are required.
- If the insurance company provides rental reimbursement, that insurer will be charged according to the current Fabel policy.
